being able to laugh about having a numb ass at the assemblies from sitting and the hilarity in having to tell people that you found the meeting "uplifting" when really you were fighting sleep the whole time.... you no longer have to avoid entire sections of music stores in order to make sure you don't pick up and "demonistic" vibes from backmasked cd's.

i don't believe god does this kind of thing - otherwise, why are there so many poor elders in developing countries who can't even afford a bicycle to get around?
Yeah I remember that sort of BS. When my dad was out of work he was often told to pray more or he was poor because he wasn't putting Jehovah first in his life. Truth was he was more spiritual than all of them and it was because of passing up opportunities and always having his nose in a bound volume or insight book studying that meant he couldn't forge a decent career.
Those experiences at the assembly used to really piss me off where a couple would say 'well our car broke down and we didn't have the money to repair it and we needed it to pioneer. So we prayed and you know what the next week an envelope came through the door with £200 in it. We never found out who had sent it but we think it was definitely Jehovah providing for us'. I used to get really mad and say what about brothers in Africa who haven't even got shoes let alone cars! Why doesn't Jehovah give them some of this good fortune.
Truth was it was encouraged to be poor but the rich were always better thought of. Another paradox of life in the JW's.

Not as good or punchy as the ones already mentioned but there ya go. It has got me thinking of an idea though. All the sponsorship boards at football grounds with stuff like Nike ads on them could be replaced in the closed season just before the assembly with these slogans. Just imagine all the dubs walking in looking round and going WHAT THE HELL?!!
My cousin is a Yes nut. We went to see them live in Newcastle a few years back. I did like their music especially Close To The Edge, Union, 90125 and Anderson, Wakeman, Bruford, Howe. I always found the album covers more intriguing though by the artist Roger Dean.

LMAO!! They're all funny but that one just tickled me for some reason. It's like the most inane, least positive comment you could put in a personal ad.
Incidentally my brother found a girlfriend in America through that site. They dated long distance for about a year and he visited her a few times and hogged the telephone every night for hours on end. In the end she got DF'd and it turned out she was a bit of a tart even by so called 'worldly' standards.
